Ga. top court upholds 2 local murder convictions

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Georgia Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld guilty verdicts in two local murder cases, according to District Attorney Jared Williams.

Zaiara Smith, 34, of North Carolina, previously convicted of malice murder, felony murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony on Aug. 9, 2023, will continue serving his sentence of life without parole, according to Williams.
