BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — With attorneys and the judge noting nothing could be done without him present, reasonable force was authorized to bring Ray Mata Jr. to court Tuesday afternoon for a hearing in connection with the torture slaying of his 8-year-old daughter.
Mata refused to leave jail Tuesday morning, and Judge Tiffany Organ-Bowles gave the order for his removal and rescheduled the hearing for 1:30 p.m.
Mata and Graciela Bustamonte are charged with murder and other crimes in the death of Genesis Mata, whose body was found in a motel bathtub. They’re eligible for the death penalty…
