‘Saw great results’: Cincinnati leaders say program aimed at keeping city safe is working

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Cincinnati city leaders say a program aimed at keeping the city’s neighborhoods safe is working.

“I know that we saw great results last year and in our first year our goal was to reduce gun violence incidents by 10% citywide,” said City of Cincinnati violence reduction manager Kait Bell. “We more than achieved that. So, we were around 18% reduced incidents citywide last year which is great and we want to keep striving for more.”

Act For Cincy is a collaborative effort that’s made up of five pillars that form the foundation of the city – thriving neighborhoods, reduced accessibility of firearms to youth, improved well-being, improved youth support, and policing innovations.
