First Alert Weather Days: Heat index expected to top 100° again

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The dangerous heat that scorched the region Monday continues Tuesday through Friday, with heat index values climbing above 100 degrees each afternoon and evening.

Tuesday: Dangerous Heat Builds

Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 95 degrees, but the high humidity will push heat index values well above 100 degrees in the afternoon and evening. The tropical humidity is already noticeable early Tuesday morning and will continue to build throughout the day.

Tonight will be clear with a low of only 75 degrees — offering little relief from the heat.

Wednesday and Thursday: More of the Same

Wednesday brings sunny skies with a high of 96 degrees and very high humidity. Heat index values will again exceed 100 degrees…
