DeRon James, a 15-year-old who would have been an 11th-grade student at East Lansing High School this fall, was killed early Monday morning in a shooting near Lansing’s St. Joseph Park.
An email the high school sent to parents and guardians of ELHS students shared James’ name.
“This sudden and unexpected loss is deeply felt by our entire school community,” the email said, “and our hearts are with DeRon’s family, friends, classmates, and all who knew and cared about him.”…
