Police in suburban Mount Prospect are asking for the public’s help in searching for a missing 13-year-old boy who was last seen leaving his home Monday night.
Alexy Schroeter, who is diagnosed with a mild intellectual disability, was last seen about 11:30 p.m. near Lions Park wearing a gray t-shirt and gray shorts. According to police, he is approximately 4’11” and weighs about 90 pounds.
Mount Prospect police first posted about the missing boy about 7 a.m. Tuesday, asking for the community’s help in finding him. Around 12:20 p.m., police released an update, asking the community to check unlocked cars and vehicles.
“Our department recently sent out a mass notification via phone, text, and email to the area surrounding where 13-year-old Alexy was last seen,” the post said. “We are asking the community to check unlocked vehicles or sheds on their property, as Alexy may have looked for a place to sleep during the overnight hours.”…
