Ann Arbor firefighters rescue boom lift operator stranded in air

ANN ARBOR, MI – A boom lift operator had to be rescued by firefighters after his lift broke down while he was in the air.

Rescue crews were called at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, to a home in the 2000 block of Vinewood Boulevard for a report of a stranded boom lift operator, according to the Ann Arbor Fire Department.

The boom lift, a hydraulic platform lift commonly used for construction and maintenance work, had become unstable, rendering its controls inoperable and leaving the operator unable to descend safely, officials said…
