BRADENTON BEACH, Fla. — Manatee County Beach Patrol plans to have additional guards on duty for the Fourth of July weekend. During the days leading up to Father’s Day the crew made more than 136 water rescues in the three days of June 17-19.
The rescues marked the most the division has had in a three-day span, according to officials. Lifeguards are preparing for another busy holiday weekend at Coquina, Manatee, and Cortez beaches.
