Staying safe in the heat: Doctor shares warning signs of heat illness

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Temperatures are climbing across West Michigan this week, and with the Fourth of July holiday and summer vacation in full swing, many people are spending time outdoors.

Whether it’s cooling off at the pool, taking a bike ride or stopping for ice cream, Dr. Mark Miller, chief of emergency medicine at Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, says it’s important to recognize the warning signs of heat-related illness.
