ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — For the first time in nearly 50 years, on October 1, The Salvation Army Center of Hope is pausing services at its downtown Asheville location on 204 Haywood Street.
The change means some of the 65 residents that the organization shelters every night could have nowhere else to go.
