Slew of state airports, including Cal City, to receive federal funding for upgrades

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A slew of California airports have been awarded federal money to modernize their facilities, including one in Kern County.

Out of the 16 state airports selected, California City’s airport will be one of the awarded recipients and it will funnel about $150,000 to the airport to resurface parts of its existing runway.

The money will be distributed from the $107 million worth of grants from the Federal Aviation Administration targeting remodeling and modernizing airport infrastructure around the state to improve safety and strengthen the state’s aviation system…
