North Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) – A quick but powerful thunderstorm swept through parts of Western New York Wednesday around 6:45 p.m., knocking out power to some residents, toppling trees and scattering debris across neighborhoods.
Strong winds knocked a tree onto a pickup truck on Tremont Street in North Tonawanda, one of the hardest-hit areas. The storm also led officials to cancel Wednesday evening’s Gateway Harbor Concert Series along the canal in Tonawanda.
