KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An ambitious project to turn a major street to two-way traffic in downtown Kalamazoo will soon begin.
Kalamazoo Avenue will be converted to two-way traffic as part of the nearly $20 million Streets for All initiative, beginning July 13, city officials said in a release.

The project will rebuild Kalamazoo Avenue from the ground up, replacing aging sewer, water, and storm water infrastructure while burying overhead electrical utilities and upgrading sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, traffic signals, and more.
