WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — After hours of emotional public comment, Palm Beach County’s Zoning Commission unanimously recommended denying the controversial Project Tango proposal Thursday, siding with residents who argue the county doesn’t know enough about the impacts of a modern AI data center before allowing it near homes and a school.
The proposed development would amend the master plan for the Central Park Commerce Center west of the L-8 Canal along Southern Boulevard, near the Arden community and Saddle View Elementary School. The revised proposal includes about 3.6 million square feet of development, including more than 1 million square feet of data center space, warehouses and utility facilities on more than 200 acres. County zoning staff had recommended approval before Thursday’s hearing.
