HPD DUI Task Force to conduct Fourth of July safety checkpoint

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The Huntsville Police Department’s (HPD) DUI Task Force will conduct a traffic safety checkpoint on Saturday, July 4, as part of its ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving and keep Huntsville roadways safe.

HPD is increasing enforcement efforts to deter dangerous behavior, remove impaired drivers from the road, and protect the community.

“Celebrating the Fourth of July should never come at the expense of someone’s safety,” HPD DUI Task Force Sergeant Antonio Shorter said. “If alcohol is part of your plans, then plan for a sober ride before the celebration begins. One bad decision can have lifelong consequences for you, your family, and innocent people on our roadways.”…
