The event was organized through the efforts of Max Miller, promoter for the blood drive, who helped coordinate the event with Dave Christensen, Quartermaster of the VFW Post 11019, Adjutant for the American Legion and local veterans organization members. The Rock River Valley Blood Center bloodmobile was on site throughout the day, giving residents an opportunity to donate blood and help save lives.
Community support was strong, with 22 people showing up to participate. The blood drive resulted in 16 units of blood collected, while five potential donors were deferred, primarily due to low iron levels.
