WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) – Westlake police said an elderly Cleveland man was nearly tricked into giving away some of his hard-earned savings to online scammers, but alert employees at a local store took action to prevent the crime.
The story came to light on Thursday afternoon, when an officer noticed a man sitting on a guardrail near a bus stop at Crocker Road and Hilliard Boulevard.
Body camera video showed the patrolman was concerned about the man’s wellbeing in the extreme heat, so he stopped and asked if he needed help.
