MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Jackson Hospital posted on social media Friday that it has reached an agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, which will allow the financially-troubled hospital to remain open. Jackson had sought higher reimbursement rates from the insurer to help with its finances.
The court system recently stopped short of requiring the higher reimbursement rates, but it appears that the two sides have now reached an agreement voluntarily. No details of the deal were immediately released.
The hospital has already received financial commitments from local and state governments…
