WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Battleship North Carolina will light up the Cape Fear River this Independence Day, glowing in red, white, and blue as part of the nation’s celebration of the Fourth of July and America’s 250th anniversary.
Beginning at dusk on Saturday, July 4, the historic battleship’s iconic silhouette will be illuminated in patriotic colors, creating a striking display visible from downtown Wilmington and locations along the Cape Fear River.
As North Carolina’s official World War II Memorial, the Battleship North Carolina honors the more than 11,000 North Carolinians who lost their lives during World War II.
