Former Southern University track and field star heads to Clemson

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A former Southern University Track and Field star is heading to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), officials confirmed.

According to Clemson University, Tashina Alase recently signed with the Tigers.

Alase was the first woman since 1994 to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, after Alethea Antoine placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. She was the only Southern University student-athlete to qualify for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the same season…
