Severe storm threat prompts time change for Uncle Sam Jam in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln city officials have moved the start time for Uncle Sam Jam at Haymarket Park to 7 p.m. due to possible severe thunderstorms Friday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 p.m. for Lancaster County. Wind gusts up to 80 mph are possible.

“Ensuring the safety of our community members is our first priority for City-managed outdoor events like Uncle Sam Jam,” Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird said. “We are working with the National Weather Service and Lincoln-Lancaster County Emergency Management officials to monitor the need for weather-related contingencies.”…
