San Antonio franchisee aims to expand Bojangles locations, with third site soon to open in Alamo Ranch

Bojangles, a fast food chain known for its fried chicken sandwiches, buttery biscuits and other southern fixings, plans to open three more San Antonio locations within the next six months — including one in the Alamo Ranch area this fall.

Local franchisee Terrence Thames is working to remodel a former Arby’s on Culebra Road, just west of its crossing with Westwood Loop, he said in a phone interview on Friday. The remodel is expected to cost $650,000, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

“Alamo Ranch is a very highly populated area,” Thames said, explaining the appeal of the Culebra site. “You can tell just by the traffic there on a regular basis. We thought for coming into the San Antonio market, that would be a key place to put our brand at on that road.”…
