Lexington celebrates America’s 250th birthday with vendors, live music and fireworks

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) – The Town of Lexington held its 250th Independence Day celebration at the Icehouse Amphitheater, drawing residents of all ages for a night that included a dozen vendors, live entertainment featuring the Lexington Community Band, and a fireworks show.

The event was more than a year in the making, according to Maddie LaFontan, special event supervisor for the Town of Lexington.

“It’s really incredible. We were able to be a part of the 250th commission for Lexington County — they helped us out a lot with reenactments and historical presentations,” LaFontan said. “And we’re able to learn a lot about Lexington County’s history.”…
