LAKEWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) -Twenty-five years after a Lakewood toddler was badly burned by a stray firework, his mother says she’s still pushing for change and for more awareness about just how quickly a celebration can turn into a life-long recovery.
Homcy says it happened on a summer night in 2001, after a storm cancelled the Fourth of July show at Lakewood Park. Her family was outside on their front porch when she saw a neighbor come out with fireworks…
