NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — New data from the Metro Nashville Police Department shows crime is trending down across Nashville through the first half of 2026.
From homicides to auto thefts, most major crime categories have posted double-digit declines compared to the same period last year.
According to Metro police statistics:
- Homicides are down 25%, dropping from 32 this time last year to 24 so far this year.
- Robberies have fallen 27%, decreasing from 445 to 325.
- Property crimes, including burglary and theft, are down 20%.
- Auto thefts saw the largest decline, falling 40% from nearly 2,500 reported thefts last year to just under 1,500 this year.
