Trees down, NJ Transit service disrupted after storms move through Tri-State

A fast-moving storm barreled through the Tri-State area on Friday night and left plenty of damage in its wake to be cleaned up on the Fourth of July.

The storms left debris scattered across multiple New Jersey Transit tracks near Hoboken Terminal and a tree came down on overhead wires near Broad Street in Red Bank.

Following last night’s severe storms, there are more than 50 trees down along the M&E alone that crews are working to clear and then make repairs to extensive damage to track infrastructure and overhead wires today. Updates will be shared as progress continues. pic.twitter.com/DeQOVOSBwN
