OSP Log: Lincoln and Lane county crashes among recent fatalities

FRIDAY, JUNE 26

• 8:20 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Port Orford in Curry County that took the life of Luke Anree May Dizon, 18, of Covington, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Dizon was driving a northbound Chrysler Pacifica when he fell asleep at the wheel, drifted into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a small school bus that had been converted into a motorhome driven by a 73-year-old Fort Bragg, California, man. Dizon was declared deceased at the scene. A Chrysler passenger, an 18-year-old Auburn, Washington, woman, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Two other adult passengers in the Chrysler were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Another adult passenger in the Chrysler and the motorhome’s driver were not injured…
