Severe weather canceled fireworks displays originally scheduled for July 3 in Kent and Hiram.
Hiram, which planned two days full of events, announced July 2 that its fireworks and festivities the next day would be canceled. A parade and other activities still went forward on July 4.
“Well Hiram, we’ve known that the heat has been miserable and now the forecast calls for thunderstorms starting [Friday] evening,” stated a post on the Hiram’s July 4th Facebook page. “The pyrotechnics crew has recommended that we reschedule the fireworks and we – regrettably – agree.”
Other activities planned for the same day, including Swifty the Clown, Coyotes Mexican Food Truck and Icees, also were canceled and would be rescheduled…
