A section of Raeford Road near Ireland Drive will close in both directions beginning July 13 so crews can replace a drainage pipe, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
The closure comes after crews repairing a drainage near Buckhead Creek discovered a decades-old concrete culvert that was buried beneath Raeford Road during a past widening project, the NCDOT said.
Because the condition of the abandoned culvert is unknown, the NCDOT says it must be removed before work on the new pipe can continue…
