Livingston Parish students excel at National Beta Convention

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Students from Livingston Parish earned top honors at the National Beta Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, winning some of the event’s most competitive academic and leadership competitions.

Top honors included Denham Springs student Kate Dentro being named the 2026-27 National Beta Ambassador. French Settlement High School earned a national championship in the Beta Blitz competition, while Denham Springs High School captured a national title in the Senior Spanish Academic Test.

“The success of these students reflects countless hours of preparation, dedication, and support from teachers, sponsors, administrators, families, and the community,” said Superintendent Jody Purvis. “Their accomplishments on the national stage make Livingston Parish and the State of Louisiana incredibly proud.”…
