AMES, Iowa — Ames officials said they were continuing to monitor river levels Saturday after up to 6 inches of overnight rain overwhelmed storm sewers and left multiple streets difficult or impossible to travel.
As of 8 a.m. Saturday, July 4, city officials said water remained on East Lincoln Way east of Teller Avenue. East 13th Street was closed near Holub’s Greenhouse.
The Iowa Department of Transportation also closed the northbound ramp from Interstate 35 to U.S. Highway 30 because of water on the road, officials said.
