ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque police said officers shot and killed a 41-year-old man downtown after they heard gunfire and ran toward a confrontation.
According to APD, Stephen Griego died at a local hospital after the overnight shooting. Witnesses told police Griego confronted another man near Central Avenue and Third Street NE.
Police said several officers in the downtown area heard a gunshot at 11:53 p.m., ran toward it and four officers fired several times at Griego. Officers took Griego into custody and started first aid until a rescue unit arrived…
