Tonight, storms will slowly begin to wrap up in the region, but if you plan on heading to the big fireworks show at the mall, pack the umbrella. Lows tonight are expected to reach into the 70s. Sunday, across the DMV, more severe storms are possible with the approach of a “cool” front, and as the front slowly sags south, more thunderstorms are possible on Monday, too.
The Storm Prediction Center has already highlighted DC and the surrounding areas under a slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather on Sunday. Expect multiple rounds of storms to be possible across the area during peak heating of the day as a front drops in from the north.

Slightly cooler air will return to the DMV starting Monday afternoon and linger into the middle of next week, as highs over those three days are expected to reach into the 80s.
