OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — What started as an online friendship through video games has grown into a new beginning for a Russian family now calling south Louisiana home.
As Americans celebrate Independence Day, Sergei Kolbassin and Aida Kolbassina say this year’s Fourth of July means more than fireworks and cookouts. It’s their first time celebrating the holiday in the United States after leaving Russia in search of a safer future for their son, son Sergei Kolbassin Jr.
