It is another seasonable to mild morning for many New Mexicans. Low temperatures have dropped to the 50s, 60s, and 70s across the state with some locations in the northern mountains falling into the 40s. The cloud coverage this morning has likely left Albuquerque and other locations warmer than normal. Albuquerque has only dropped into the low 70s so far. Today’s forecast has the return of showers and thunderstorms for some locations in New Mexico. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are expected in parts of southern New Mexico, around the central mountain chain and east. There is a strong to severe threat to some of these storms this afternoon where the main threat will be the wind and hail component for communities near the Texas-New Mexico state line.
