LANSING — The number of cases of cyclosporiasis in Michigan has risen from 170 reported on Tuesday to 572 cases reported Saturday.
Cases remain the highest in Monroe, Lenawee, Washtenaw, Wayne, Shiawassee, Jackson, Oakland, and Livingston counties, according to the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Symptoms of cyclosporiasis— Frequent watery diarrhea— Loss of appetite and weight— Abdominal cramps and bloating— Nausea— Low-grade fever
No specific produce, grower, or supplier has been identified as the source of the outbreak, and investigations are ongoing.
