Warm to hot weather will continue across the Texas and Oklahoma through the week

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — This is meteorologist Jim Danner. Warm to hot weather will continue across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles through the week. There will be daily chances for thunderstorms, although Monday and Tuesday may have fewer storms. Any storms that develop today could produce strong wind gusts, with the best chances mainly in the western panhandles. Hotter weather is expected during the second half of the week, while thunderstorm chances return from midweek into late week.

Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the 90s. There is a chance of thunderstorms late this afternoon and this evening. A few storms could become strong, with gusty winds being the main hazard.

Tonight, thunderstorms are likely during the evening before skies gradually clear overnight. Lows will fall into the 60s. Monday will be sunny and warm with highs in the 90s, followed by a mostly clear Monday night…
