HOUSTON — Firefighters battled a fire at a vacant apartment complex in north Houston early Sunday morning.
The fire broke out at the complex off Greens Road at around 5 a.m. When crews first arrived, large flames were shooting from one of the buildings and were visible from the freeway. According KHOU 11’s Michelle Choi at the scene, firefighters were able to knock down the bulk of the fire in less than an hour.
Even after the flames were knocked down, Houston Fire Department crews remained at the scene for well over two hours, monitoring hotspots and continuing to spray water from ladder trucks.
