Charlotte’s Legion Brewing is facing another lawsuit, this time over questions about its finances.
A minority stakeholder in the brewery, which has three Charlotte locations, has accused the owners of failing to be financially transparent to its investors and “fail[ing] to make certain payment obligations, including loan and lease payments,” according to a lawsuit filed in Mecklenburg County Superior Court on Thursday.
The plaintiff, B&D Legion Holdings LLC, owns a just over 13% stake in the brewery. That gives it the legal right to inspect the business’s records — but Legion has failed to provide quarterly and annual statements since B&D became a member in 2020, the suit claims.
