WESLEY CHAPEL, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Over 1,100 customers lost power overnight after a tree fell on power lines, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Duke Energy Outage Map.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, the UCSO posted to social media to say that a fallen tree at Potter Road and Weddinton Road (NC-84) had knocked out power for many in the Wesley Chapel area.
This happened after a few small and spotty but strong storms rolled through the region. However, officials have not said if the weather was to blame for the fallen tree.
As a result, the intersections of Potter Road and Weddinton Road as well as Waxhaw Indian Trail Road and Weddinton Road are both impacted. Drivers should expect some delays in the area…
