Metro committee to review plan for dedicated police unit on WeGo transit system

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A proposal aimed at strengthening safety across Nashville’s public transit system is set to go before the Metro Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Monday night.

Committee members will review a memorandum of understanding between the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), WeGo Public Transit, and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) that would create a dedicated Metro Police Transit Unit.
