NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will open a new exhibit this month celebrating the career and life of East Tennessee native Kenny Chesney, featuring memorabilia that traces his journey from Gibbs High School to country music superstardom.
“Kenny Chesney: Living in Fast Forward” opens July 23 and will remain on display through June 2027. The exhibit highlights more than three decades of Chesney’s career with instruments, awards, photographs, handwritten lyrics, stage clothing and personal artifacts that reflect his life on and off the road.
Several items in the exhibit showcase Chesney’s East Tennessee roots, including the varsity jacket and football jersey he wore while playing for the Gibbs High School Eagles in the mid-1980s. The display also features the Fender Concord acoustic guitar he played while attending East Tennessee State University before moving to Nashville in the early 1990s…
