Man Arrested for Thayer St. Murder Was Charged Months Earlier for Assaulting the Victim
On Friday, Providence Police announced they had arrested 25-year-old Dylan Sutphin for the murder of an elderly man, but this story started much earlier and raises more questions about the speed and justice in Rhode Island’s court system. The preceding event incident took place on June 25, 2026, in front of the Ben & Jerry’s store on Thayer St.
The victim of Sutphin was 86-year-old John Conley.
