High Point woman speaks out after stray bullet hits home: ‘Don’t feel safe’

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — A High Point woman is speaking out after a bullet fragment came into her bedroom and grazed her lip on Saturday night.

She was in bed asleep at the time in her apartment along Brentwood Street. She woke up instantly with pain in her mouth and hit the floor, fearing the worst.

“It’s just me and my daughter here. … It’s my job as a mother to protect her, and I just felt hopeless. I just felt like I was alone, and it was just me,” said Linda Cook, a High Point resident.

Thankfully, her 6-year-old daughter was not home at the time…
