HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Three vehicles were involved in two separate crashes on University Drive on Monday that ended with a car striking the outer wall of an Aldi grocery store, according to the Huntsville Police Department.
What happened
Officers responded around noon to a report of a vehicle striking a building in the 4700 block of University Drive, HPD said.
The first crash occurred on University Drive when a driver failed to yield the right of way, causing a collision, according to HPD.
A driver who witnessed that initial crash then accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, lost control of the vehicle and struck a nearby business, HPD said.
