A fawn attacked by an unleashed dog on South Brookwood Drive in Montclair Monday morning has died, a township spokesperson said.
An unidentified individual, who was walking the dog, left the scene before Animal Control arrived, the spokesperson, Matthew Amaral, said.
“Animal Control worked to find the fawn a spot with a wildlife rehabilitation partner, but it was too gravely injured and passed away,” Amaral said. “It was a very sad situation that we hope can be prevented in the future by people cooperating with the township’s leash laws.”…
