(FOX40.COM) — A man convicted for a deadly shooting in the parking lot of a Wingstop in Sacramento County has been sentenced to serve 40 years in prison, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
On February 24, 2024, 38-year-old Joseph Anthony Soto Jr. parked his car around 10:15 p.m. and started walking to the Wingstop at 5905 Florin Road in the Florin area. As Alimohammed Hamid was backing out in his car, he rolled down his rear passenger window, and a verbal argument ensued between him and Soto, the attorney’s office said.
As Soto turned away and started walking toward the restaurant, Hamid pulled out a firearm, fired one round into Soto’s back, drove away and then discarded the gun and shell casing. Soto stumbled into the Wingstop asking for help and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was expected to survive, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said at that time, but his conditioned worsened and on March 21, 2024, Soto died from his injuries…
