AMARILO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On June 30, the Amarillo Independent School District settled with the family of a student who died almost four years ago due to an epileptic seizure on AISD grounds, according to Lovell, Isern & Farabough, LLP.
Lovell, Isern & Farabough, LLP noted in a statement that they have reached a confidential settlement in the case. Previously, according to documents filed in the Texas Northern District Court on June 25, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk denied a motion filed on behalf of AISD for a Motion for Summary Judgement.
Granting the motion would have stopped the lawsuit from proceeding to trial.
