ROSCOE, Ill. (WTVO) — The Roscoe Road bridge across the Rock River in Roscoe has closed this week for five months of repairs. This closure will significantly impact local drivers and businesses, forcing them to find alternate routes across the river.
With that bridge being the only way to cross the Rock River in the area, its absence is expected to create much longer commutes for residents and delivery challenges for businesses that rely on the direct route.
Roscoe resident Gina Hayunga anticipates significant changes to her daily routine. “We have to wake up earlier,” Hayunga said, expressing uncertainty about afternoon traffic. “I don’t have any idea what it’s going to be like coming home, because traffic’s usually worse in the afternoon and evening. So I have I just have no idea what to expect.”…
