Scattered thunderstorms expected in ArkLaTex amid heat wave

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Hot and humid conditions will continue across the ArkLaTex on Monday, with afternoon highs returning to the lower 90s and heat index values climbing into the triple digits.

High temperatures are expected to reach 93 degrees in Shreveport, 92 in Texarkana, Marshall and Natchitoches, with widespread heat index values nearing 100 degrees by midafternoon. Shreveport, Marshall and Texarkana are forecast to feel like 100 degrees around 2 p.m., while Natchitoches and Manny will reach about 98 degrees. Heat index values will remain in the upper 90s through the early evening.
